On the 5th day of Paris Fashion Week, Elie Saab, Vivienne Westwood, Mugler, Nina Ricci, Olympia Le-Tan, Alessandra Rich and Haider Ackermann Spring 2016 collections were presented. Check out my favourites from those collections below.
Elie Saab has always been my favourite with the romantic evening wear. Yesterday's show was full of romantic details but with some sporty additions like bomber jackets and a tracksuit. When the show began with those sporty looks, I was afraid that it would go on like that but thank God Elie Saab's essentials were still there. Although the designer himself said it was not different, I couldn't feel the same amazement as I had felt in every single Elie Saab collection.
“We have such incredible girls here, and it’s about being inspired by them. Wanting them to look cool, to look fresh, and to enjoy clothes.” said the designer David Koma at the Mugler backstage and yes, all the looks in his collection were cool, fresh and enjoyable. He also chose military theme but it was very free and sexy with the assymetrical dresses, cut-outs, buttons, zippers and all. I also loved the colours he chose.
Vivienne Westwood is a great activist as she is a great designer. She uses her fashion shows as a platform for activism and this time her theme was Venice, as city that is sinking faster due to climate change. The show was very dramatic and the collection was really genius. She used male models, too, in female clothes.
